Hi there EräKatri here! As you know, Green Loop is turning 10 this year. I invite everyone to celebrate the revitalizing, experiential, active and unique Green Loop park chain with me.
Are you familiar with Green Loop?
Green Loop is a pleasant outdoor and recreational trail that circles the center of Jyväskylä, combining parks, natural sites and the city's cultural history. The trail runs through a varied environment – sometimes in an urban landscape, sometimes in a forested atmosphere and along the banks of the Tourujoki River. And best of all, Green Loop is suitable for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities in varied landscapes and on different surfaces.
Enjoy a city tour together
Green Loop offers a 10 km city tour, which is worth heading for in a relaxed manner in good company and with tasty snacks. On a guided city tour, the atmosphere is immediate, you travel at a leisurely pace and stop when appropriate. Observing, listening and exploring is nice in a group.
The Green Loop route offers a unique opportunity to get to know your familiar hometown from a new perspective. Many of us move along Green Loop in our everyday lives. On a guided tour, familiar landscapes come to life in a new way: stories, history, nature and surprising details that often go unnoticed by passersby are accompanied.
The feedback from the participants has highlighted, among other things, the good atmosphere of the tour and the guidance. The joy of how much new things you can discover about your own city. A guided city tour is a great break from everyday life.
Anniversary invites you to Green Loop
The 10th anniversary of Green Loop is a great example of how the city and nature are one. In honor of the anniversary, now is a particularly good time to explore the route with a guide - you can find your own new favorite place along the route.
I invite you to join me. Whether you are a long-time Jyväskylä resident, a new resident or a visitor, walking along Green Loop offers joy, insights and beautiful experiences. Feel free to join us. A city tour is an easy and pleasant way to get to know Green Loop, Jyväskylä and new people.

I wrote this invitation from Green Loop for the publication of the Kangas Residents' Association in May 2026. What a great joy that we have the vibrant Kangas area, a wonderful oasis near the Tourujoki River, right next to the city center of Jyväskylä. Kangas is a sought-after residential area, offering a variety of things to see and experience for everyone - residents, city dwellers and visitors. I recommend it!
