Dreaming is an important life skill
Dreaming is an important skill for everyone - from teenagers to seniors. What do you dream of?
I know from experience that dreaming and saving for those dream pays off. A major childhood dream of mine, a trip around the world, came true after I spent ten years purposefully saving up for it. I saved automatically each month.
Dreaming is important. It is worth pursuing your dreams and moving towards them. Realizing bigger dreams requires hard work, long-term saving, and a goal-oriented approach.
Fortunately, once I had the money saved, I paused to consider my options. I gathered my courage and set off on the journey.

On land, at sea and in the air
On an autumn morning at home in Jyväskylä, I strapped on my backpack and walked through the quiet city center to the travel center. I boarded the 6:22 a.m. train to Helsinki; the journey had begun. That afternoon, I flew to the wondrous land of Iceland.
11 new countries. Numerous states. Continents and islands. Travel by plane, train, bus, ship, and boat. Wonderful people, memorable encounters. Experiences on land, at sea, and in the air.

My a journey starts with a one-way ticket
The journey was full of incident and variety. This presentation takes you through the situations and events I experienced. Expect moments of celebration and reflection, sights and scenery, surprises and wonder, encounters and friendships—along with many wonderful places and spectacular experiences. It captures everything the world had to offer this traveler.
New Zealand was the main destination of my trip; I thoroughly enjoyed my two-and-a-half months there, traveling the length of the country from north to south and back again.
When I set off, I had flights booked only as far as Los Angeles on the US West Coast. Covering the first month and a half. From there, I let my mood guide the rest of the journey.
After six months of traveling, I flew back to Finland on the "blue and white wings" of Finnair, taking a direct flight from Singapore to Helsinki. It was wonderful to come home to the fresh Finnish spring.
