“In Pyhä-Häkki National Park, you can tune in to the frequency of nature, surrounded by the ancient pines of the primeval forest. Everyone can recharge in their own way — by watching, listening, smelling, touching, or even tasting nature.
Studies show that hugging calms the mind, reduces stress and increases contentment. While walking in the forest, you can find peace and strength by hugging a tree — and from experience, I can tell you it really works!”

Pyhä-Häkki National Park
Located in Saarijärvi, Pyhä-Häkki National Park is the smallest and oldest national park in Central Finland. Established in 1956 during Finland’s second wave of park creations, it was founded to protect valuable old-growth forests and the rich diversity of life they sustain.
Pyhä-Häkki National Parks primeval forests are among the finest in southern Finland. Half of the park is forest and half is mire, creating a rich variety of habitats for many species. Among the tall trees stand some truly ancient ones — many of the pines are over 200 years old, and the oldest date back to the 1500s.
Because of the abundance of rare polypore fungi found in its ancient forests, Pyhä-Häkki’s woods have been classified in the highest value category for old-growth forests — exceptionally valuable and unique. Owls, woodpeckers, and tits thrive in this peaceful, natural environment.
EräKatri warmly welcomes you to a guided nature experience in Pyhä-Häkki National Park.
