Remember to dream
Dreaming is an important civic skill for everyone from teenagers to seniors. I know from experience that dreaming and saving for your dreams pays off.
My own childhood dream of traveling around the world came true when I first saved travel money purposefully for 10 years from every paycheck.
How lucky I was that when I had the money, I gathered my courage and set off.

On land, sea and air
I was 43 years old when I put on my backpack at home and walked through the center of Jyväskylä to the travel center. I took the morning train to Helsinki at 6:22. In the afternoon, I miraculously flew to Iceland.
New Zealand was the main destination of my trip, I had a great time there for 2.5 months. After traveling for half a year, I flew back to Finland with blue and white wings on a direct flight from Singapore.
11 new countries. Traveling by plane, train, bus, ship and boat. Wonderful people, unforgettable encounters. Experiences and activities on land, sea and air.

On a journey with a one-way ticket
A lot of things happened and happened on the trip. So there are situations and events, moments of celebration and places for reflection. Sights and views, surprises and wonder. Encounters and friendship. Everything that the world offered this traveler.
