Welcome to admire rock paintings that are thousands of years old. A guided rowboat trip to the Saraakallio rock paintings takes you on a small journey back in time. The trip departs from Laukaa harbour the parking lot.

Visiting the rock paintings is a small adventure. Along the way, you will row through narrow passages, around headlands, across open lake areas, along boat routes, through gentle currents, and enjoy stunning scenery. Boat ride distance is approximately 5 km.

Admiring these rock paintings in their unique prehistoric setting is a truly moving experience.

The pristine nature of Lake Saraavesi is beautiful. Being on the water brings you closer to nature in a completely different way, and even familiar landscapes look new when viewed from the lake.

The Saraakallio rock paintings can only be admired from the water

The 40-metre-high cliff face of Saraakallio is located within a nature reserve on private land, on the eastern shore of Lake Saraavesi.

You can only see the rock paintings from the water or from the new viewing platform built in front of the cliff face.

Rowing to the Saraakalli is always a pre-booked trip, at the end of which participants are awarded certificates of honor.

All you need to bring to the water is a brisk hiking spirit and weather-appropriate clothing.

Bring with you a cheerful spirit for the trip, weather-appropriate clothing, and a water bottle. You are welcome to join a guided rowboat trip.

• You can participate with a friend or as a pair with the guide. The boat can accommodate a maximum of 3 participants. Small dogs used to boat trips are also welcome.

• Life jackets are available for for children, teenagers, adults and dogs. Dry bags are also available if needed.

Price

The price for a private guided rowboat trip is € 210 per boat (1–3 participants).

The trip duration is 2–3 hours. At the site, we will spend as much time as needed peacefully.

The price includes guiding, a Saraakallio visitor certificate, a snack, equipment, liability insurance, and VAT.

Trip snacks

If a particularly good snack is an essential part of your trip, then you are allowed to enjoy it on this trip. The price of the trip includes a drink and a small snack. Of course, you can also bring your own treats.

You can bring your own favourite treats, or if you prefer ready-made snacks, I can provide them for an additional fee according to your wishes.
