An old ambulance turned into a camper van - EräKatri's RetkiLanssi

In the summer of 2020, the dream of a camper van was born.

The enthusiasm for a camper van was sparked in a surprising place and situation. However, I immediately realized that this was a dream that I would make come true. I didn't set a timetable for its implementation. It will happen in due time.

In the spring of 2022, when I was driving alone from Vuokatti back to Kuusamo, my dream of a camper van came to mind. It was surprising how quickly things eventually progressed. Step by step. It was the end of April and I got a tip about a camper van made from an old ambulance in Äänekoski. Jari Rautakoski had carefully built a camper van for his own needs.

Right after May Day, we called Jari for the first time and at the end of May, the deal was made. It was just the right time for a camper van. How lucky I was that I found the courage to make a decision, even though many things scared me. I remember being really happy.

Freedom is the key

I love the feeling of freedom and the taste of adventure when I drive RetkiLanssi. With a bigger car, the journey is more comfortable and the scenery changes in a different way from a higher perspective. Plans can be changed and it is easier to throw yourself down. The standing height in the back and the compact folding bed make trips incredibly easier.

The RetkiLanssi, registered for four, offers me a lot of joy and well-being. As well as opportunities in a different way. The summers since 2020 have been very different, all great summers of freedom.

Friday, May 8th, will start the fifth summer of freedom for RetkiLanssi and me. I am happy.
