NATURE SWIMMING IS WONDERFUL

Swim with EräKatri

This is for you who know how to swim and like to swim. For you who want to make new memories.

Did you know that swimming is an excellent way to enjoy nature? Swimming is a versatile form of exercise that uses up a lot of energy without putting strain on your joints. Swimming has been shown to activate the entire body, relieve stress and bring good mood, among other health benefits.

All the good health effects of swimming are available to you too. There are 224 swimming pools and 168,000 lakes in Finland. I strongly believe that everyone can find a place they like to enjoy the water, swim or take a dip. In a pool or in open water.

Swimming brings good mood to life, presence. Light swimming revitalizes and restores our heart rate while lowering it.

Swimming in summer - dipping in winter

How lucky we are that in Finland's clean waters, nature swimming is possible all year round.

When swimming outdoors, the connection to nature is present. You get to be embraced by the water, surrounded by it and enjoy the sounds and landscapes of nature. When was the last time you swam in Finland? Or did you go night swimming?

Did you know that cold swimming makes the body react, triggering various good physiological reactions. Stress decreases, muscle pain is relieved, the body hardens, and the metabolism is stimulated. After a cold swim, you feel good. Have you taken a dip in the open water?

Let's swim as a couple or gather your own group and go swimming together to the Lehtisaari saunas. The swimming distance from Viitaniemi to Lehtisaari is 300 m or more, depending on the route chosen. One option is to swim around Lehtisaari, about 600 m.

Swimmer's safety buoy for yourself

Swimming in open water is possible without any equipment other than a swimsuit as long as your feet reach the bottom and you swim with a buddy along the shore.

If you swim longer distances without your feet reaching the bottom all the time, remember your safety buoy. The inflatable swimmer's safety buoy provides safety while also being a dry storage bag for keys, phone and extra energy. The buoy helps the swimmer's visibility. It saves, for example, in the event of a stroke. A clear safety buoy always gives you the opportunity to rest for a moment when the opportunity arises.

Buy your own orange Arena safety buoy. You will receive it immediately for 45 euros incl. VAT 25.5%

Would you like to try a mermaid tail?

Mermaids are wonderful. I saw a mermaid for the first time in 3/2014 at the South Bank outdoor swimming pool in Brisbane, Australia. At first I couldn't believe what I saw. I fell in love immediately and decided that someday I would get my own tail. Making my dream come true took time. Finally, in 9/2025, I got a fin, a beautiful mermaid tail for myself.

EräKatri's swimming background

As a child, I "lived" in the lake during the summers. Swimming and sauna were the best I knew. When I was young, I was a competitive swimmer. At some point, I smoothly switched to diving, competing in fin swimming. I have trained as a swimming instructor, worked as a swimming supervisor at a children's pool and as a swimming instructor both indoors and in natural waters.

As an adult, I have participated in a few long-distance swimming events. In 2020, my dream came true and I participated in the Masters Finnish Short Course Swimming Competition in Kuopio.

I respect water and safety is the most important thing to me. I once experienced a stroke while swimming in an indoor swimming pool. In the lake I always swim only with a buoy if my feet don't reach the bottom. When I go to the open water, I take a dip, staying right next to the stairs.

I still always take the opportunity if I have the chance to dive in a 25 m pool or jump from a diving tower. It's important to maintain skills.

I love swimming and I really like saunas.

Have a nice day!

You are warmly welcome to join us. It is also possible to organize a swimming trip elsewhere.

I hope to meet you.

Kind regards
EräKatri
